Among the many reverberations of President Obama’s election, here is one he probably never anticipated: at least 32 African-Americans are running for Congress this year as Republicans, the biggest surge since Reconstruction, according to party officials.... “I ran in 2008 and raised half a million dollars, and the state party didn’t support me and the national party didn’t support me,” said Allen West, who is running for Congress in Florida and is one of roughly five black candidates the party believes could win. “But we came back and we’re running and things are looking great.” For full article, click here

Deerfield Beach, FL - March 21, 2010 - Republican Congressional candidate Allen West (FL-22) released the following statement after the United States House of Representatives passed healthcare legislation Sunday. "Sunday's vote by the House of Representatives was a travesty of policy, politics and process. The liberal troika of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi has once again conspired to trample the will of Americans and strong armed Congress to pass healthcare legislation the public simply does not want.

Chamberlain then uttered the one word that would save the day at Gettysburg, turn the tide of the Civil War, and indeed perhaps, save our America: "Bayonets"! It was a word command never given by a Union Commander to that point, the spirit of the bayonet and the offensive initiative had always been with the Confederate forces... I spoke of the same command because in surveying our country, the time has come to regain the initiative, to beat back the attack of the liberal progressives, and to inspire my fellow Americans at a time when men may wish to retreat. We must fight to rebuild our economy, encourage small businesses to grow, stand by workers and allow them to keep more of their hard earned pay. We must show the bayonet to our enemies who try to harm us and commit terrorist attacks. We must oppose the wasteful, corrupt governing of Nancy Pelosi and Ron Klein... I say "Bayonets" to let us all remember the story of Little Round Top. Let us all remember the leadership and courage of Colonel Joshua L Chamberlain. Let us all remember that regardless of how bad it may seem, we don't quit, we don't retreat, we don't surrender........WE CHARGE! That is the American spirit, that is what we all must embody in this 2010 election cycle year.

Helped by a viral video on YouTube, Republican congressional hopeful Allen West raised more money during the fourth quarter of 2009 than he did during his entire 2008 campaign against U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton. An official report isn't due until Sunday, but the West camp says it collected more than $670,000 between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31. That compares to $583,897 for the losing 2008 effort. West's money surge signals a serious campaign that's drawing more national attention as he makes a second bid to unseat Klein. But he's still not in the same financial league as Klein, who had $2.2 million in the bank on Sept.

There are three things you never do in the time of an economic recession: print more money, borrow more money, and raise taxes.......and now you can see why I told Sean Hannity that President Obama and Congress, led by Harry Reid and Ron Klein, are failing.
