Washingtoons: "What is at Stake?"
Greetings Wheels on the Road (WOTR) readers, fellow South Floridians, and indeed all Americans. It is time for our monthly political assessment, and do we have lots to assess.
Armed Forces Day
On this Armed Forces Day, May 15, 2010, let us honor and thank the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen who bravely secure the liberty and freedom's of our Constitutional Republic.
West Weekly Wrap-up (W3) Report for end of April of 2010
America is a Republic and understanding the rule of law is integral to a well ordered society. All those who have come out against Governor Jan Brewer and the law that was signed in Arizona obviously do not understand the difficulties facing the state of Arizona in the absence of federal law enforcement along the borders.
West Weekly Wrap-up (W3) Report for start of April of 2010
Greetings to the greatest Congressional campaign supporters in the Country – and I am serious as two dogs fighting about that statement. I’m constantly amazed by how much happens in one week.
West Weekly Wrap-up (W3) Report for the end of March of 2010
Greetings to everyone and what an eventful week this has been! Before I begin I must tell you that the Allen West for Congress campaign has without a doubt the greatest Volunteers in the Nation. I am just amazed and humbled at the work they have accomplished in a little over a month in securing the necessary petitions for the ballot. Not only have they collected more than enough petitions, they have also catalogued them for verification.
Washingtoons: “The Lesson of Phidippides”
Greetings Wheels on the Road (WOTR) readers, fellow South Floridians, and all Americans, time for another monthly political assessment. It is 11pm Sunday night, the first weekend of March Madness and my two teams, University of Tennessee and Kansas State University, survived and shall move onto the coveted “Sweet 16”. It is also the evening when our US House of Representatives stand ready to make a decision with immense ramifications for our Republic, the healthcare reform vote….another form of March Madness.
Kill the Bill
No open debate.
No hearings by Congressional committees.
No opportunity for the public to meet with their Congressman to discuss the latest proposal.
In fact, the Democratic leadership asked the Budget Committee of the United States Congress to vote for the bill even before the final language has been drafted!
West Weekly Wrap-up (W3) Report for the end of Feb. of 2010
There can be no doubt that today, as Lincoln articulated, there are those who understand Liberty to mean "each man doing as he pleases with himself and the product of his labor". However, there are those who believe Liberty to mean "for some men to do what they please with other men, and the product of their labor". These are two different and incompatible things, clearly one is Liberty and the other called Tyranny.
After watching the healthcare summit this past Thursday, there can be no debate that we face a struggle in our country against the growth of big government and in support of liberty.
West Weekly Wrap-up (W3) Report for start of Feb. of 2010
Chamberlain then uttered the one word that would save the day at Gettysburg, turn the tide of the Civil War, and indeed perhaps, save our America: "Bayonets"! It was a word command never given by a Union Commander to that point, the spirit of the bayonet and the offensive initiative had always been with the Confederate forces...
I spoke of the same command because in surveying our country, the time has come to regain the initiative, to beat back the attack of the liberal progressives, and to inspire my fellow Americans at a time when men may wish to retreat. We must fight to rebuild our economy, encourage small businesses to grow, stand by workers and allow them to keep more of their hard earned pay. We must show the bayonet to our enemies who try to harm us and commit terrorist attacks. We must oppose the wasteful, corrupt governing of Nancy Pelosi and Ron Klein...
I say "Bayonets" to let us all remember the story of Little Round Top. Let us all remember the leadership and courage of Colonel Joshua L Chamberlain. Let us all remember that regardless of how bad it may seem, we don't quit, we don't retreat, we don't surrender........WE CHARGE! That is the American spirit, that is what we all must embody in this 2010 election cycle year.
