West Responds to Washington Post Article
September 2, 2009West knows better than most the details of this issue as leaders review what is allowed and what is considered torture under American law.
The hypocrisy of having Attorney General Holder describe America as a ‘nation of cowards’ in relation to this cowardly act is laughable. I am reminded of a quote from George Orwell, ‘A Nation sleeps peaceably at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on its behalf’.
If we continue to have our Country led by what COL David Hackworth termed ‘perfumed princes’ the security of our Republic is threatened. I would challenge President Obama and Attorney General Holder to find the intestinal fortitude to make hard decisions, and not be cowards prosecuting those far more honorable.
Such a lack of basic leadership in Wasington DC is why I am running for US Congress in Florida’s District 22.
I shall not allow the future and legacy of my Country to be left to petulant, intellectual elites who would sacrifice our Liberty and Freedom. It is a sad day in America when the feelings of terrorists are more important than securing our people.
America is a nation of brave men and women who stand guard while their countrymen sleep peaceably.”
